Dennis Moore

Dennis Moore (also known as Kirk Garrett), born on November 26, 1951, in Long Beach, California, passed away peacefully surrounded by love, in the late evening of October 22, 2023, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a loyal partner, a wonderful father and a devoted grandfather. Dennis was a music performer from the start. He was a piano player, singer, and songwriter, and played numerous other instruments. He frequently referred to himself as a “band geek.” He was an entertainer at heart and performed for numerous audiences right up until last year. His lifelong motto was “nothing but fun” and he lived every day to prove that. Whether it be going on vacation to Hawaii or just catching a show in Las Vegas, he was always ready to go out and have some fun! Even after his pancreatic cancer diagnosis and right up until his last days, he was out having fun! He will be incredibly missed by many.
Dennis is survived by his partner, Vance Ohumukini, his Daughter, Kristen Pointmeier (Anthony), his grandchildren, Shaelyn and Naythan Pointmeier as well as numerous family members and amazing friends. Dennis was pre-deceased by his youngest child, Dustin Moore, both of his parents Bill and Jean Moore, as well as his older brother Steve Moore and younger brother Michael Moore. Dennis requested no formal funeral service; however, a memorial plaque will be placed at a park in Las Vegas, Nevada. He will also be taken to California for his final resting place.

  • My sincere condolences to all the family. I got to know Dennis in the band. He played the drums and tuba and was a joy to know. We won music awards together and separate 🎶 Dennis was always smiling, friendly, positive and kind. He will be missed. God bless Dennis in the heavens. 🙏

  • I am so saddened over losing Denny, my alt-brother. I wish I could say more but words get choked up by grief. What a wonderful man and lifelong friend.
