DIANE KELSEY ADAMS

1929 – 2020

Diane Kelsey Adams passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at The Wentworth of Las Vegas.  Diane Whitwell Kelsey was born in Hollywood, CA on November 7, 1929.  She and her brother Bob were adopted by John and Mary Gray early in life after the death of their parents.

Her childhood was spent many places; Ojai CA, Clearwater FL, London England, Brevard NC. She attended Kimball Hall (high school) in Peterborough NH, and then graduated Centenary College in Hackettstown NJ. After college she moved to Cambridge MA where she met her husband. Married in 1950, she started a family in Glens Falls NY. Over the years, she lived in Springfield MA, Lenexa KS, Pocatello ID, Sumner WA, Coeur d’Alene ID, Tigard OR, and finally Las Vegas NV.

She loved camping and spending time with her family.  Diane was an active member of many clubs, including the Springfield MA Naturalist’s Club, Mineral Club, and Allen Bird Club. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, canoeing, collecting mushrooms and other outdoor activities. She loved to travel and was especially fond of ocean beaches.

She studied Native American beliefs, healing practices, and reverence of the earth mother. It is truly fitting she chose to pass on Earth Day.

She is survived by her three children; William of Ware MA, Kathryn of Las Vegas NV and James of Portland OR. She also leaves grandchildren Rachel, Christopher and Jacklyn.

Simple Cremation was entrusted with the final arrangements and cremation.  A memorial and burial of ashes will be scheduled at a later date in Cambridge MA.
