Harold was my dear friend, mentor, and advisor for over 50 yrs. I became his student at the age of 18 and we became friends soon after our first meeting. Throughout my life I stayed in contact with him, and we talked regularly. Harold was patient, giving, caring, and the most honest individual I have ever known. He mentored me and with his influence I became a mathematician too. I loved him and I miss him. He was my dear friend.
