John Ernest Pomfret of Las Vegas, 88, died peacefully at his home on September 6, 2021, of heart disease. John was born on January 19, 1933 in Pontiac, Michigan, and was a 20-year veteran of the United States Army, having served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After the Army, John had a career as an Aircraft Structural Repair Specialist and worked throughout the U.S. and in Germany. He is survived by his wife Priscilla; former wife Kyung “Dottie;” sons Leonard, David and Gary; and daughters Debbra Dunn and Teresa (Felix) Dean. John was preceded in death by his son John Joseph Pomfret who passed in 2012. John has 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He will be laid to rest with full military honors at the Southern Nevada Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Boulder, Nevada.
