Lanis Rose Reich

Lanis Rose Reich, age 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 1, 2021 at Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas, Nevada, with family by her side.  She was born on September 23, 1946, in Sacramento California and was one of 5 siblings.

While living in Fairbanks Alaska, Lanis married and had two children by the time she was 19 – just a few months before her husband, Dan Reich, went into the Vietnam war.

This time in Alaska may explain why, for the rest of her life, she migrated only to hotter climates, having lived in Las Vegas, Nevada; Amarillo, Texas; Maui, Hawaii; Atlanta, Georgia, and back to Las Vegas again.  She also loved visiting her son and his family in Sydney, Australia.

Lanis will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul – always trusting and seeing the goodness in people.  She was a loving mother who made many personal sacrifices in raising her two children.   And although she lived a life of humble means, she appreciated the finer things in life and always loved seeing the lifestyles of the rich and famous.

Lanis is survived by her daughter, Terri Frederick of Las Vegas, Nevada; her son, Tom & wife Ella Reich of Sydney Australia; her father, Lee Forvour of Ocean Shores, Washington; her brother Randy & wife Sharon Johnson of Amarillo Texas; her brother Barry & wife Carol Forvour of Ocean Shores, Washington; and her three grandchildren – Austin, Savannah, and Hunter Reich of Sydney, Australia.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Louise Forvour of Ocean Shores, Washington; her two sisters Glenda Hubbard & Jerry Beaumariage of Fairbanks, Alaska; and her grandson Brandon Keller of Atlanta, Georgia.

May God Rest her beautiful soul.

  • Rest In Peace to my beautiful grandmother. I didn’t know Lanis as much as I would have liked, but whenever I was in her presence, whether it be on FaceTime or in person, she would always put a smile on my face. I thank her for everything she has done for her family to be where they are at today, the sacrifices she made to get them to where they are, through perseverance and hard work was one of her best characteristics. She assured that her son and daughter would live a better life than she did through her efforts. A true mother. Not only that but Lanis was an amazing grandmother to me and my siblings, she would always make an effort to talk to us or come see us all the way on the other side of the world. May peace be upon her and let her soul rest in heaven as she looks down on us with her contagious smile.

Terri, Tom, Ella and family, My heart goes out to you as we grieve Lanis passing. It has been a terrible year for our family with the passing of Bradon, Louise, Jerry and Lanis. With Grandpa now in a home, life has changed drastically for all of us . It seems overwhelming for it all to have happened in such a short time. Now we must move, on remembering the good times and memories we shared them while they were with us. Life is short with no guarantees, take this time to tell those you care about, how much they mean to you and enjoy their company whenever you can. May God Bless you. Rest in peace loving Sister.
