Las Vegas, Nevada
It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Delores on September 17, 2026 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Delores Virginia Przytakoski was born on March 22, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan. She was raised on a small farm in Richmond, Michigan by proud polish immigrants. Delores was the youngest of five children. She took great pride in her Midwestern upbringing and it affected her permanently, in a good way, but she had the itch to travel and a new town was beckoning.
Dee migrated to San Diego, California, in the 50’s. She fell in love with the west coast the
moment she arrived and called Southern California home for most of her adult life.
Delores wore many different hats supporting herself over the years. She was a hair dresser, a small shop owner in Del Mar, a jewelry sales person, an aloe vera representative, and a ticket seller for the Padres and Chargers, to name a few of the professions she fiddled with. Dee was the Bob Hope of the work force, entertaining the troops where ever she was employed.
Dee was an awesome chef, acclaimed for her garden salads and home made vinaigrettes. Her golumpki (traditional Polish cabbage rolls) were the best in the land. She could transform the most basic dish into a Michelin star meal with her artistry in the use of herbs and seasonings. Delores loved animals and had many pets over the years. Her most memorable were two Shih Tzu’s, Pam Pam and Shoo Shoo, her long time devoted dog companions. She also loved her cats, Susie Q and Boo Hoo.
Delores was a supportive, generous, and loving aunt. She gave an indispensable helping hand to all of her nieces and nephews who followed in her footsteps and moved out to San Diego to start a new life.
In the last phase of her life, Delores made the bold move and left her beloved San Diego for Las Vegas to find a new way of living as a forever young senior citizen. Dee showed the folks in Las Vegas how to have a good time. Playing bingo was her game.
Delores lived a remarkable life on her own terms. Dee was the essence of the saying: You’ve Come a Long Way Baby. She was independent, self-sufficient, and held strong opinions long before Gloria Steinem arrived on the scene to liberate women. Delores was beautiful, lively, always entertaining, and, without fail, the life of every party. She was blessed to be surrounded by an army of great and long lasting friends throughout her life.
Delores had spunk, she was Bling, and her light will continue to shine brightly in the memories of all who had the pleasure to know and love her.
Delores is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who loved her dearly.
Here’s a toast with an imaginary flute of classy champagne to honor the life of Dee!
May the divine Delores rest in peace.
