The timeline for a completed cremation is APPROXIMATELY 15 BUSINESS DAYS from the completion of arrangements (all necessary signatures, data needed to produce a Death Certificate, AND payment received). This is NOT a guarantee. Weekends and holidays DO NOT COUNT as it can be hard to get in touch with doctors and their offices may be closed during these times. Once arrangements are completed, the Original Death Certificate is prepared by our staff and delivered to the doctor’s office, hospital, hospice, or wherever directed by the doctor that is responsible for signing the Death Certificate in a timely manner (not always as soon as you leave our office). Once the doctor has signed the Death Certificate, it is submitted to the Nevada Health District where, if they agree that the cause(s) are acceptable, a permit is given for cremation. This is not a Certified Death Certificate.
Once the permit is received, the permit, Cremation Authorization Form, and accompanying documents are given to our crematory for the cremation to be scheduled. We DO NOT place a greater importance on one decedent over another. Our cremations are done chronologically and are USUALLY completed within 5-7 business days of the receipt of the permit, depending on our caseload. Cremation time varies with each individual decedent but the process usually takes between 3 to 4 hours to complete. We only cremate ONE BODY AT A TIME. Once the cremated remains are brought to our office, we will try our best to contact you and let you know when you will be able to pick up the cremated remains. If you have not heard from our staff within 15 BUSINESS DAYS, it is your responsibility to contact us and check on the status of the cremation.
If cremated remains are not picked up or suitable arrangements for the remains have not been arranged for (i.e. - mailing, etc.), there will be a storage fee of $35 PER MONTH after 30 days from the date of cremation.
If, for whatever reason, you feel you need the cremation to take place within a shorter timeframe, you can pay a “expedite charge” to shorten the timeframe. We charge a “Expedite Fee” as follows:

Simple Cremation is unable to provide any rites, ceremonies or the facilities to conduct any rites or ceremonies with the final disposition of the human remains of the deceased person. Simple Cremation is unable to provide burial, embalming, or public visitations of human remains of the deceased person. Identification viewings are permitted at an additional fee.
