In Loving Memory of Robert Garcia
Robert was born in Houston, Texas on 10/13/1937 to parents, Onofre and Andrea Ramos Garcia, and passed away in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 10, 2020. He spent most of his life in Houston where he met and married Gloria who was the love of his life. Together they had two loving and devoted children Larry and Elizabeth. He was in the home of his daughter Elizabeth and her husband John, who were blessed to be with him when our Lord called him home.
Robert spent most of his career in Houston working as a Sales Manager. He loved spending time with his family and was always there to offer a hand whenever help was needed. He enjoyed watching football, fishing, crabbing, playing pool, and cooking barbeque for family and friends. He relished the simple things in life like eating beef jerky and having a cold beer on a hot day. His life was full of many joys and he selflessly and readily shared these joys with those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Gloria Trevino Garcia. His sister, Ruth Cortez, daughter Elizabeth, and husband, John Hanson, His son, Larry Garcia and his deceased wife Lori. Three grandchildren, Brittany, and her husband Ryan Winkelman, Jade and Jourdan Garcia. Great grandchildren Dylan and Jake Winkelman, and many other nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents Onofre and Andrea Ramos Garcia, and numerous brothers and sisters: Roy, Olivia, Esther, Carmen, Albert, Emily, Emma, Frances, John, Ernest, Onofre Jr., Hortencia, Alfredo, Mary, and Lanora. As you can see he came from a very large family. Truly his heart was indeed a big one as it held so many loved ones in it!

We miss you dad!
I heard about his death through Gina. I extend to you and your family my condolences. I am Karen Robles, my grandmother was the third born child. Her name was Emily Garcia. The reason she was the third born was because the first born was Albert Garcia, and the second born was a boy, but he did not live. My grandmother went on to marry Alphonse M. Avila. They had two children as well. They were Irene and Alphonse Avila. My parents had me first, Karen Robles, Ronald, and Michael. My Uncle married Alice Mora. They had two children Yvonne And Fay. My Uncle married a second time to Margaret Ramos. They had three children. One was Carol Ann Avila she passed away. Patricia Gay Avila, Alphonse Avila and Carolyn Gail Avila. Due to a family disturbance Margaret adopted her her sister’s son, Tony Ramos who became Tony Avila.
Robert (My Robby) was a beautiful soul who loved his family and friends beyond imagine. I’ve been blessed to have the best father (adopted), friend, mentor and confidante for 35 years. We had many adventures and so many good memories together. I cherished our relationship and will always hold Robert close in my heart and keep our memories alive. And even maybe once in a while have some communion in memory of him. The Garcia’s are my Family not by blood but by true love and respect as well as my entire family. He may have gone home but he lives on thru each one of us. He will be truly missed. God has gained a beautiful Angel.
