Robert Lee Dover

Robert Lee Dover, 90, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020.

He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on March 15, 1930. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fayette Lee Dover and Ethel C. Dover; his first wife, Shirley Ann Dover; his brothers, Jerome and Alfred Dover and his sisters, Dorothy Perry and Martha Mitroff.

He is survived by his loving wife Constance Marie Dover; his son and daughter-in-law, David Scott and Bonita Dover; his son Keith Allen Dover; daughter and son-in-law Kendra Lynn and J. Michael Knizley.  Grandchildren; Robert D. Dover, Meghan McGriff and Amanda and Jeremiah Knizley.  Great grandchildren; Brock and Dak Dover and Brilee Mcgriff.

He served in the Army during the Korean war and was discharged honorably due to a shoulder injury. He taught high school mathematics for 41 years in Willoughby, OH and Interlachen, FL. He enjoyed being with his family, playing golf and listening to music. He was a very talented artist.  He loved to sketch cartoon characters and to paint ceramic and miniature figurines. His artwork is displayed all over his house and at the homes of his children. It will always be cherished.  He was a great mentor, not just to his children, but also to many of the children he taught in school.  The primary thing his children learned from him was to be kind and considerate of others.  Despite experiencing the frustrations of aging, he never lost his appreciation of his family and friends.

The family would like to thank Nevada Hospice Care for their exceptional assistance and compassion.  Each nurse and caregiver went above and beyond their duties to provide professional care for Robert.  They also patiently provided instructions and emotional support to family members concerning his care.   Over the years, the nurses and assistants have become family to us.

Robert is to be cremated and his ashes to be spread in a place that is special to him and Constance. A donation to Nevada Hospice Care (6960 O’Bannon Dr, Suite 130, Las Vegas, NV 89117) would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
