Sharon Cecilia Nelson DiJohn, 81, of Las Vegas, NV, formerly of Mazon, IL, passed away on May 6, 2020. She was born January 1, 1939 to Enar and Sarah (Isham) Nelson. Sharon was raised on her parent’s farm. In 1962, she married her beloved husband, Richard DiJohn, and they made their home in Morris, IL.
In 1966, she moved to California with her husband and children. In 1979, Sharon graduated from Oceanside College of Beauty and became a talented hairdresser for many years. In 1998, Sharon moved to Las Vegas with her husband for retirement.
Sharon is survived by her two daughters, Cecilia (Mike) Davis of Excelsior Springs, MO and Christine DiJohn (Donny Taylor) of Hemet, CA; her brother, Douglas (Judi) Nelson of Mazon, IL; two stepsons, Richard (Lanette) Eddy of Marseilles, IL and Timothy (Cindy) Eddy of Morris, IL; two daughters-in-law, Elaine (Donald-deceased) Storm of Kearney, MO and Sue (Jeffrey-deceased) Storm of Escondido, CA; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 32 nieces and nephews.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; her three sons, Thomas, Donald and Jeffrey Storm; her five siblings, Mitchell Nelson, Lucinda (James) Kavanaugh, Sylvia (Douglas) Wallin, Charlotte (Thomas) Vodacek and Sandra (Alan) Burkart.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A USMC Military Service for both Sharon and Richard is planned for a future day. A Celebration of Life on a California beach is planned for a future date.
