Shawn Patrick Regan – 57 years old
April 25, 1963 – February 06, 2021
Shawn was a member of Sunrise Bible Church in Las Vegas, Nevada. Never had we thought we would live in Las Vegas, but he learned so much from Pastor Billy Crone so we moved here to be part of the church. His desire was to work in the church but his illnesses would not permit. At Sunrise Church, we found the most loving people who so kindly reached out to both of us over the years. Thank you Sunrise Church for being a Bible believing and God loving church.
Shawn leaves behind his wife, Judith Regan and his four children, Patrick, Katrina, Matthew, and Katelyn born to his first wife Donnette Trost. He is survived by his beautiful mother Norma Jean Regan and his brothers and sisters, Jim Regan, Elizabeth Christianson, Joe Regan, Steve Regan and Mary Hohman.
Shawn was a talented craftsman. He loved fishing, camping and helping others. Most of all, he loved Jesus. The last few years of his life was devoted to learning God’s word. Shawn was the most tender hearted and unselfish man that I have ever met. When he saw someone in need, his heart and prayers went out to them. He would help them by purchasing food or drink, and often stop to give a stranger a ride, help with their cars, or carry groceries for elderly.
Shawn had been battling illness for the past few years and experienced constant daily pain.
Shawn’s death was certainly unexpected as he had just left the hospital after a long stay. Shawn’s last words were “I feel better now.” I tell you this so that you would be blessed with the message that gave me peace. Even though we will miss him very much, he feels better now, and is resting in the arms of Jesus.
To Shawn’s children, he loved all of you very much and he prayed for you constantly.
If Shawn had a message for all of you it is, “I love you and I want everyone to experience the love and the comfort that I have received from our Savior Jesus Christ.”
Shawn had a desire to share the ABC’s of Salvation, but illness kept him from meeting new people. I thought he would be pleased if I placed it here.
A Admit you are a Sinner
Romans 3:10 “There is none righteous, no not one”
Romans 3:33 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”
B Believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins, and was raised on the third day.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whomsoever believes in Him shall have everlasting life”
C Call upon the name of the Lord
Romans 10:13 “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved”
I wanted you healed and to remain here with me, but God had other plans. Who am I to understand the plans of the Infinite Father as I am just finite. What a blessing it was to have Shawn in my life. He loved me when no one else would. Shawn is so special and I love him very much. He now waits for us to join him in the promised paradise with Jesus. He has no more pain, just beautiful peace and joy. I will remember you and love you forever until we meet again my sweet love.
May Shawn rest in peace with our Lord Jesus.
And for Judy, my sister, may you keep these scriptures close to your heart. We love you.
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words
Thank you very much Lisa.
The Bible says that we Christians grieve but we do not grieve as those who have no hope. Our hope is in the fact that through our Lord Jesus Christ we can know for sure that our last breath here is simply our first breath in heaven. The Bible says that absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. And so it is with Shawn. He entrusted his eternal destiny to Jesus. And therefore, we grieve his passing, of course, but we do not lose hope because we know it is only a temporary goodbye. Shawn immediately went to be with Jesus in heaven. In fact, it’s the same offer God makes to all of us. The Bible says that to any and all who would call upon the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and ask Him to forgive them of their sins, confess Him as Lord, and believe in their heart that God raised Him from the grave, you too will be saved and one day join Shawn in heaven as well. Please do so now. Tomorrow may be too late.
Amen and amen.
My first thought is my condolences to all who are touched by Shawn’s passing, he went to young but he is in a much better place and being part of the Regan Family, my prayers are with you all. All though life can sometimes be unfair and sometimes cruel, its also a blessing that God has granted us all. I personally have many found childhood memories growing up in Livonia and visiting Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Norma’s house on Melrose, it was a wonderful time with all the cousins there, playing and enjoying each other. I also remember the many camping trips to Ludington and Pentwater. I also remember as we got older Schawn grew to be a wonderful man, he was always there if you needed him and never asked for anything in return. His laughter and humor where always what the doctor ordered. It’s a shame that as we got older we kinda lost touch, life is like that but he was in my thoughts as is all of my cousins and Aunt Norma. I will mourn his passing but with the lord’s blessing Shawn will always have a place in my heart. I love you Shawn, look down on us and know you had touched all of us in your special way.
Thank you so much Robert. Shawn was not much a talker when I knew him, but he did tell me stories about you and him. He had many found memories with you in it. He was so tickled (happy) when he reconnected with his family after those years that he had separated. He had to work through things and find himself. But he loved his family very much and the memories gave him smiles. I only known Shawn for 14 years, but he has touched my life in a million ways. My heart too goes out to his family who loved him, but He is with Jesus and hopes that we all one day, when our days are up, will join him. Thank you again for sharing.
Shawn was a Sweet Soul. He still is a sweet soul but one that is in perfection with Jesus right now.
He truly loved my sister Judy. He would want her to go on and be happy and joyful until they meet again in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. That’s all we have and that’s all we need.
To Shawn’s family, have confidence that Shawn is in Glory. We will miss him until our time comes…how sweet that will be.
